earthquake-1

A few days after the 5.1 earthquake last week a small amount of concrete debris could be found on the bottom floor of the OCTA funded parking structure on the corner of Harbor Blvd. and Santa Fe Ave. The fragments seem to have fallen from what appears to be a supporting beam. The structure opened in June, 2012 to serve railway and bus travelers using the Fullerton Transportation Center during the day, and the bar crowd at night. Perhaps we should be glad to find only minor damage, but it is somewhat disconcerting to find pieces falling off of a building that is less than two years old, especially when the temblor, though jarring, was relatively small compared to the much larger earthquakes we might experience in the future.
