The above video is actually a positive demonstration of how the downtown bar personel acctualy work with the police in a pre-planned strategy to help clear out patrons from the area and send them home instead of lingering about which tends to be when the fights start to break out.
Yellow tape is used at Tuscany lounge blocking off the main street and forcing those patrons into the parking lots which may account for the crowded people in the above video.
The police also seem to have completely revamped their strategy for controlling the downtown area after hours by disperse trouble as it arises vs. detainment which would tie them up for a lengthy amount of time to investigate every incident.
The recent swimming pool party incident back east is a good example of how the police’s excersize of absolute control by attempting to detain suspects in a situation may esculate a situation. A show of presence , a few taps on their “buzz horn” many time may be all thats needed to diffuse a conflict situation .
By a less controlling police presence will encourage citizens to help police themselves dampening those who may be instigating. Chief Hughes has stated that a new strategy in Fullerton is creating more of a positive working model with the public.
It seems fullerton residents don’t care what happens after hours as it doen’t interfere with thier day and eve. visits to downtown.

Thank you for your comments, Mr. Stone. The video footage was captured outside of the bars on the southwest corner of Wilshire and Harbor, not at The Tuscany Club. The elaborate choreography employed by the bouncers may indeed be an improvement over direct confrontations between police and bar patrons (or just plain stupid drunks), but one has to wonder why it is needed in the first place. Is it all really worthwhile?
