Coyote HIlls Walk 2014 Shirt

Following a successful 2013 walkathon, The Friends of Coyote Hills have scheduled a 5K walk for this Saturday, November 8, from 9:30 – 1:00 p.m. Details can be found here:

The 2013 walk was a family friendly preview of the benefits conserving all of the remaining Coyote Hills as open space would bring. Healthy exercise, booths about the natural history and wildlife of the area (with live birds of prey!), and a good community experience meeting neighbors await those who participate..

The Rag urges readers to register as walkers or just register and hang out and enjoy the day supporting the vision for a wilderness park right here in Fullerton. Details and the day’s agenda are below:

Event Details: “Friends of Coyote Hills” invites you to come out and walk in support of conserving West Coyote Hills in Fullerton! Have fun day out with your family, friends, and neighbors, and discover the Natural Sciences in our own backyard! The walk is at your own pace, a 3 mile trail along the famous “Fullerton Loop.” During your walk, stop at the “Naturalist Stations” where you will learn about our local ecosystem and history. After the walk, visit the “Natural Sciences Festival” booths from conservation organizations, environmental groups, and animal rescue and protection organizations! Enjoy a great day out with the whole family and support a great cause!

9:00am-10:00am:
Check-in is open! Check-in and then start the walk at your own pace. Stop at the “Interpretative Stations” hosted by local Naturalists along the way! Kids can get their nature passports stamped at each station!
10:00am: “Backyard Natural Sciences Fair” open! Visit all the booths to learn about our local environment – plants, water, animals, etc.
10:45am: Kid’s story time (picture book on wildlife read by Betsy) 
11:15am:
 Lunch served, raffle drawing!
1:00pm: End of event, thank you for coming!
